In a resplendent tribute to India’s timeless artistic legacy, Kirti Kala Mandir is set to host Kalahotra, a two-day cultural festival on April 23-24, 2025, at Kalidas Kalamandir, Nashik, marking the golden jubilee of the renowned institution. This landmark event promises to be a vibrant confluence of tradition, talent, and devotion to classical art forms.
Established in 1975, Kirti Kala Mandir has nurtured generations of artists, upholding the purity and essence of Indian classical arts. On the occasion of its 50th year, Kalahotra will present a rich tapestry of performances, including Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, Hindustani vocal music, and soul-stirring instrumental recitals. From 9 AM to 1 AM on both days, the stage will come alive with over 64 acclaimed performers and more than 600 emerging artists from across the country.

The event seeks not only to celebrate excellence in the arts but also to rekindle a deeper public appreciation for India’s cultural roots. “Today’s generation deserves recognition for choosing to uphold our classical traditions rather than blindly following Western culture,” says Rekha Nadgauda, chief organizer of the festival. “These young artists who dedicate themselves to Indian arts are the true custodians of our heritage, and we must honor their commitment.”
A special highlight of Kalahotra is the guru-shishya presentations, where revered gurus will perform alongside their disciples, symbolizing the intergenerational transmission of knowledge and devotion. The schedule also includes interactive sessions and felicitation ceremonies to honor lifetime contributors to Indian classical arts.
With its inclusive and inspiring programming, Kalahotra aims to ignite cultural pride, especially among youth, and reaffirm the relevance of classical arts in modern India. Art lovers, students, and cultural connoisseurs are warmly invited to witness this historic celebration.
