Nidhi & Sannidhi: Celebrating Dance Traditions and Guru’s Blessings

Ganesa Natyalaya, New Delhi based Bharatanatyam institution started by Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan, presents the upcoming Swarna Saroja event, “NIDHI & SANNIDHI: Celebrating Dance Traditions and Guru’s Blessings”on Sunday, 9th February at its premises. An enchanting evening dedicated to honoring the rich heritage of Indian classical dance by two eminent artists: Priya Murle and Vidushi Vidha Lal.

The evening’s highlight includes a Bharatanatyam presentation titled “NIDHI – Thanjavur’s Treasures” by Priya Murle of Chennai. This captivating program will showcase Bharat’s Dharohar, bringing to light the unique tradition of Thanjavur’s Bharatanatyam and its impact on South Indian culture. Ms. Murle is the President of the Association of Bharatanatyam Artistes of India (ABHAI), has been instrumental in uniting the Bharatanatyam community across India and the world. Notably, the Lifetime Achievement Award from ABHAI was the last award that Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan received before her passing.

Additionally, Vidushi Vidha Lal, a distinguished Kathak dancer who had a close association with Guru Saroja Vaidyanathan, will present “SANNIDHI – In the Proximity of the Guru.” This performance delves into the special relationship between a student and their Guru, highlighting how a Guru nurtures a student’s talent and legacy.
