Padmashri Geeta Mahalik and Geeta’s Upasana has organized the Sarat Smruti festival known as Nritya Manjari on Wednesday 30th April at Stein auditorium of the India Haibitat Centre in New Delhi. This festival is organized as a tribute to Sarat Mahalik and Guru Mayadhar Raut, with the support from the Ministry of Culture.
The festival features the Odissi recital by Padmashri Guru Geeta Mahalik and her disciples, Bharatanatyam by Rama Vaidyanathan and contemporary dance by Guru Krishna Kumar and group. On this occasion the Guru Sammaan will be bestowed on veteran Odissi danseuse Guru Madhavi Mudgal and Bharatanatyam exponent Guru Geeta Chandran.
Distinguished guests of the evening would include Former Justice of the Supreme Court –Aujit Pasayat, eminent painter Jatin Das, Director of National School of Drama – Chittranjan Tripathy, Editor Attendance and columnist – Ashish Mohan Khokar, Kuchipudi exponent and arts critic – Guru Vijay Shanker.
