Anvaya-The Nexus of Traditional and Modernity

Kalakshiti, a centre for Bharatnatyam, is organising its second Annual Day on 1st September in New Delhi. The theme for this year’s annual day is “Anvaya”- A nexus of Traditional and Modernity in significance to music and choreography. The idea behind this theme is to portray the richness of Bharatnatyam in the changing time, without losing its technical aspect and beauty; and at the same, also trying to stay within the traditional aspect of Margam.

Kalakshiti, a Rohini (New Delhi) based registered dance institute has been working on promoting quality training in Bharatanatyam under the guidance of Ms. Smitha S Pillai, a disciple of Guru Sunita Menon and Guru Justin McCarthy.

It will be an audacious occasion which will be blessed by the presence of the Chief Guest- Shri K. Sathish Nambudiripad, Additional Director General (EMMC),
Ministry of I&B, Govt. of India and the eminent Mohiniyattam dancer Dr. Jayaprabha Menon. The occasion will also witness the presence of Shri Babu Panicker, Chairman of Kerala Educational Society, New Delhi and Shri K Raghunath, Honorary Patron of  Shrutilaya and a true Philanthropist.
