Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2017, which were announced in June, will be presented by Shri Tathagata Roy, Hon’ble Governor of Meghalaya today on the opening day of five day festival of Music, Dance & Drama in Shillong.
Yuva Puraskar, given to artists below the age of 40 years, was introduced in the year 2006 with the objective of identifying and encouraging outstanding young talents in diverse fields of performing arts and giving them national recognition early in their life, so that they may work with greater commitment and dedication in their chosen fields.
The five-day festival organised by Sangeet Natak Akademi in collaboration with Directorate of Art & Culture (Govt. of Meghalaya) will be held between 14th to 18th September at U Soso Tham Auditorium in Shillong.
Recipients of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2017 will perform in the festival as per schedule given below. Sangeet Natak Akademi has arranged LIVE STREAMING of the festival on its website and its official Youtube channel.
