The three-day Maha Kathak Utsav in Ujjain from October 29

Maha Kathak Utsav 2018, jointly organised by Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, Sangeet Natak Akademi and Pratibha Sangeet Kala Sansthan will be held from 6.30 pm every day on 29-30-31st October at Pt. Suryanarayan Vyas Sankul Hall at Kalidas Academy, Ujjain. Renowned Kathak exponents of the country will present solo as well as group choreographies during this three event.

Mr. B.B. Chug, Director-Kathak Kendra, Delhi and Ms. Pratibha Raghuvanshi Elchi, Director-Pratibha Sangeet Kala Sansthan informed that on October 29, Jyotika Joshi (Singapore) will present a solo presentation while Aarti Singh will present a group choreography. Rujuta Soman (Pune) and her troupe will be presenting a group choreography Trishna. Students of Kathak Kendra, Delhi will present choreographies “Panchakshar” and “Megh Malhar” choreographed and conceptualized by Guru Jayakishan Maharaj.

The second day of Maha Kathak Utsav is going to be a great visual treat for Kathak lovers as students of Kathak Kendra Repertory will present choreographies of renowned Kathak maestro Pandit Rajendra Gangani (New Delhi) and Guru Pandit Jitendra Maharaj (New Delhi). The Day-2 will begin with a solo presentation by leading Kathak dancer Dr. Tina Tambe (Mumbai).

On the concluding day of Maha Kathak Utsav, V. Anuradha Singh (Bhopal) will perform a solo dance presentation while Jayanti Mala (Mumbai) and Nandini Singh (New Delhi) will present group choreographies.

In the end, the Kathak Kendra Repertory students will perform choreographies Shivadhyanam and Tarana, directed by Guru Malti Shyam.

Entry to Maha Kathak Utsav is Free and open for all.
