For those who appreciate the finest in classical music, it would be a day to mark their calendars. Three strong women and legends in Hindustani music come together in the city of Mumbai to present a day that will celebrate the classical music of Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra gharana. The morning, afternoon and evening session will be held ahead of the Women’s Day to also mark the occasion.
The day long enthralling experience presenting the best in Hindustani music will be helmed by three vocalists Apoorva Gokhale (Gwalior), Dr Pournima Dhumale (Agra) and Pratima Tilak (Jaipur).
Each of these musicians command a staggering position when it comes to their deep understanding and lineage of Hindustani classical music. They also have the honor of studying Hindustani Classical music with some of the most illustrious gurus of this century.
The day promises to be entrenched in the sounds and soul of the various ragas that bring out the beauty of each gharana. The performance timings of the gharanas will coincide with the melodies meant for that time of the day.
