Kapardhini dance Academy has organised Hara – the national dance festival, featuring accomplished classical dancers in different dance styles, Bharata Natyam by Darshan Shankar, Deepak Kumar and the Svarita Ensemble – disciples of Karnataka Kalashree Guru Satyanarayana Raju, Kuchipudi by Rama Koundinya from Srikakulam,Andhra Pradesh and Odissi by Debasisih Pattnaik from Rourkela. The festival is held at the Sevasadan auditorium in Malleswaram,Bangalore on Thursday 5th March, The chief guests for the festival are Dr Padmini Shreedhar, artistic director of Nritya Gaana Academy of Performing Arts and Eminent arts critic from Mumbai – Guru Vijay Shanker. Tickets are available on 85480 21264.

Bangalore based Darshan Shankar, artistic director of Kapardhini says “This is the fifth edition of Hara national dance festival, initially we had planned an exclusive male dancers festival as there are not many platforms available for male dancers but this year we have taken a step further by including the Svarita Ensemble of talented female dancers, they are disciples of the renowned mentor and Bharata natyam mentor – Guru Satyanarayana. Infact their performance will be the additional highlight of the festival, hence I would expect amazing response from the Rasikas. Its not easy to organise festivals as there is hardly any corporate support but its the spirit that keeps us on as devoted classical performers and we believe that “the show must Go On”..
