Sai Nrityotsav in Bengaluru

Leading lights designer and photographer of Bengaluru,Sai Venkatesh has organised the 150th Sai Nrityotsav on 1st November at the JSS Auditorium,Jayanagar,Bengaluru. This one of its kind festival will feature several dancers from various parts of the country in different styles. Over 150 artists are expected to participate in this unique festival that will start at 9am and conclude around 9 pm, covering a time span of over 12 hours, a visual and a cultural treat indeed.

Sai Nrityotsav is a dance festival which was started 150 months ago, with a vision of Sai Venkatesh to promote Indian Classical Dance and exhibit the talented artists .This festival was inaugurated by the veteran kathak danseuse and mentor Guru Dr. Maya Rao, director of Maya Institute of Kathak and Choreography, Maya Rao discovered her own dance statement and was among the pioneers to initiate group choreography and dance drama productions. Several disciples of hers have become professional dancers and teachers.

Sai Nrityotsava has been conducted on the first of every month since the past 14 years. At this platform 5 slots are provided with 5 teams for 30 minutes duration to present their art. There have been numerous solo , duets and group performances presented at this platform.

Artists from all over the world have been a part of Sai Nrityotsav. Renowned Gurus and Artists have performed as well as presented their disciples at our festival. This platform has also showcased all the 8 Indian classical dance forms. Sai Venkatesh says “On 1st November 2023 , we are celebrating the 150th Month of Sai Nrityotsav . We will be celebrating it for 12 hours where 150 artists from 24 different teams from all across the world will perform for us. The highlight of the festival is the performance of two veteran artists along with their disciples. Roja Kannan and Durga Arya will be performing Bharatanatyam and Kathak respectively along with their disciples. Festival organizers from Chennai, Orissa , Andhra Pradesh, Telangana , Maharashtra , Kerala etc. will be commencing this festival as the Guests of Honor.

The ICCR Director of Bangalore and the SNA chairman of Delhi are expected to grace the occasion. Guests of the festival would also include Vikram Kumar, Editor of Dance India magazine from Andhra Pradesh, Jagabandu Jena from Orissa, Guru Kashmira Trivedi and eminent dance critic Guru Vijay Shanker from Maharashtra, Dr Kesavaraja Balakrishnan from Tamil Nadu and Chitra Sukumaran from Kerala.

All are welcome to be a part of this celebration of Sai Nrityotsav. Therefore, this festival creates
a mark as the platform which has been presented for this long period of years , and also marking
the city of Bangalore as a cultural hub.

I have my own dance institute in the name of Sarga School of Performing Arts in kerala which is functioning under the affiliation of Kerala Sangeeta Nataka Academi, Thrissur, Kerala. I have passed BA and MA in Bharatanatyam from Kaladi Sri Sankaracharya university with first Rank. I have performed the divine art in many prestigious stages in India.
