Accomplished Kuchipudi and Kathakali exponent, Guru Vijay Shanker will dance to the poetic renditions of famous English poetess J.K. Roseline on Saturday 27th September at the Nritya Shakti Studio,Bangur Nagar,Goreogoan West. It will be an exciting evening of music,dance,drama and the lyrical and aesthetic elements will be interpreted by Guru Vijay Shanker along with his talented disciples Akash Goswami and other dancers.
J.K. Roseline is a brilliant poetess who vividly portrays the beauty, glory and grandeur of nature in its resplendent manifestations pertaining to the colourful nature and as to how nature relates to life and man. Roseline has to her credit published four books of poems that captures the varied and colourful aspects of nature. A former journalist with Times of India, Gulf News and other prestigious publications, her enriching experience spans for more than three decades.
Few years back Guru Vijay Shanker met Roseline through a common friend and for the first time Roseline asked Guru Vijay “Would you like to dance to my poems?” Guru Vijay was pleasantly surprised and excited and replied “that sounds interesting but I would like to read and understand your poems before I try to interpret it in with classical moves and subtle expressions”. Since then Guru Vijay Shanker has already performed of Subhash Ghai Insititute in Andheri, Dosti Acres Towers in Wadala and other avenues and the response has been amazing.
Guru Vijay is also known as an eminent arts critic, whose reviews and articles has been published in the ClassicalClaps, Times of India, Indian Express, Sunday Observer, Evening News of India, The Daily, Mid-day, Afternoon Despatch and Courier, Femina magazine, Bhavans Journal, Hinduism Today (North American Edition) and other online publications. Guru Vijay is also known as an actor, played the main lead in Malayalam Telefilm “Remanen” produced by Thiruvanthapuram Doordarshan, teleserials and movies, He is particularly credited for his lecture-demonstrations on Indian classical dances to promote National Integration and Global Peace for Schools,colleges,Universities, Corporate companies and organisations all over India. Guru Vijay’s enriching and outstanding contribution spans for more four decades and he has been felicitated with awards like Maharashtra Samaj Bhushan award, WOW Iconic award, Bal Gangadhar Tilak award, the latest Nalanda Nartana Puraskar and others.
