Lord Shiva is described as “Nataraja”(King of dance) and some of the most revered mentors of classical dances are all males but still the stigma prevails that dancing is predominantly a feminine occupation. In order to drive away this misconception and prove the point that male dancers are exceptionally talented and brilliant dancers, an exclusive festival of accomplished male dancers, known as Samskruthi Rasaabhinaya Festival, is organised by Samskruthi- The Temple of Art at Vyoma Art Space, JP Nagar, Bengaluru on 8th and 9th July.
Samskruthi – The Temple of Art is established by acclaimed Bharatanatyam exponent and mentor, Satyanarayana Raju. Satyanarayana says “Diving into varied emotions(rasa) and extracting its essence through Abhinaya is what Rasasaabhinaya festival aspires to bring out”. The festival will definitely be an aesthetic and elevating experience not only for the dancers but also for the audience, as all top dancers are performing in the festival.
The dancers performing on July 8th are Seshadiri Iyengar and Kiran Subramanyamn will perform Bharata Natyam and July 9 the dancers featured are Murali Mohan Kalvakalva who will perform Kathak. P Praveen Kumar will perform Bharatanatyam and Mysore B, Nagaraj will perform Kathak. Mysore B, Nagaraj is among the senior most to perform for this festival and is acclaimed as a fine mentor too with his academy known as “Articulate”, Kiran Subramanyan and Praveen Kumar has also made their mark as wonderful mentors, Hence the festival is expected to be a unique artistic treat for the spectators.
