Internationally acclaimed Bharata Natyam dancer and scholar, Kalaimamani Bala Devi Chandrasekhar, has arrived in Mumbai, to take you on a pilgrimage to Pandharpur with the presentation of Mauli- A timeless tradition proclaiming the devotion for Lord Vitthala, pertaining to the Varkari tradition which has been observed and celebrated for centuries. The solo dance presentation Mauli begins when all the devotees arrive at the banks of the river Chandrabhaga to undertake a long and devotional journey to meet their Lord at Pandharpur. With vocal rendering by the commendable singer OS Arun and the evocative story telling,blending well with rustic and ethereal quality of the music. The Marathi lyrics with Nama Sankirtan, utterance of the name of the Lord gives you peace and enhances your involvement and devotion of the Lord, as all the devotees dance and sing with complete surrender to the Lord.

Mauli, the timeless tradition of devotion, will be performed by the veteran danseuse Bala Devi Chandrasekhar on Sunday 12th July at MES Auditorium, Mayur Colony, Kothrud Road, Pune. In Mumbai with the joint collaboration of exclusive musical channel In Sync, it will be presented by the Fine Arts Society in Chembur. On 24th July National Centre of the Performing Arts (NCPA) presents Bala Devi in a unique programme at their Little Theatre in “Tributes To The Maestro”.
