Samanwaya Dance Academy, Bengaluru, celebrates its annual day programme with the thematic presentation “Pibare Rama Rasam” that portrays the magnificent Lord Rama through the insightful renderings by great composers like Saint Tygaraja, Maharaja Swati Thirunal, Muthuswamy Dikshitar, Arunachala Kavirayar, Purandaradasa and saint Tulsidas. This presentation will be performed by Guru Bhavana Udaya Kanthy and her team of talented disciples at ADA Rangmandira in Bangalore on Saturday 11th April.
Guru Bhavana Udaya Kanthy is the founder director of Samanvaya Dance Academy, Bhavana holds a master’s degree in performing arts from the Annamalai University. Trained in the Kalkshetra Bani, she has had the privilege of learning Bharata Natyam from acclaimed mentors like Guru Sheela Unnikrishnan, Vidya Subrahmanyam, Dr Sivaloganathan, Manju V Nair etc. Bhavana has choreographed dance dramas like Krishna Vaibhavam, Mahadevam Rasamayam, Amba – the mother, Vaishnavam etc. Bhavana has been conferred with several honours and awards like Sanchari Kala Shree award, Natya Mayuri, Natya Vilasini award, Guru Shrestha award, Satyabhama award etc.
Bhavana and her disciples have performed extensively in India and overseas, participating in prestigious festivals. At Samanwaya Dance Academy several dance aspirants and youngsters learn Bharata Natyam with lot of enthusiasm and devotion. The distinguished guests on the annual day celebration would include renowned Bharata Natyam exponent, mentor and scholar, Dr Padmaja Suresh, Kuchipudi and Kathakali exponent and eminent arts critic of Mumbai, Guru Vijay Shanker.
