Kala Kalp Launches Research Council at Cultural Diversity Summit

Marking the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, Kala Kalp Sanskrutik Sansthan, in collaboration with the Jaipuria School of Business, organised a cultural conclave that brought together artists, academicians, and cultural thinkers to discuss the future of India’s artistic and cultural ecosystem.

The event witnessed the participation of eminent personalities from the fields of performing arts, education, and public service.

Delivering the keynote address, Dr. Atasi Misra highlighted the importance of leveraging technology for preserving India’s cultural heritage while simultaneously ensuring sustainable opportunities for artists. She stressed that technological advancement and artist empowerment must progress together for traditional art forms to thrive in the contemporary era.

Speaking on the theme “Culture Matters,” Mohit Madhav underlined the role of cultural education and family values in preserving Indian traditions. He emphasised the need to sensitise younger generations towards India’s rich cultural legacy and encourage their active participation in heritage preservation.

During the panel discussion, Dr. K.G. Suresh spoke about the concept of cultural independence and urged artists to continuously innovate and adapt to changing times while remaining rooted in tradition. Sarangi maestro Ustad Kamal Sabri highlighted the significance of rigorous daily riyaaz and discipline in attaining artistic excellence, while also advocating the global outreach of Indian classical arts.

Shri P.V. Lovelin shared insights into initiatives being undertaken in Kerala for the preservation and revival of tribal and folk traditions. Dr. Ramesh Chandra Gaur and Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak discussed the growing relevance of cultural studies and performing arts within academic and policy frameworks.

A major highlight of the evening was the official launch of the Kala Kalp Research Council, an initiative aimed at promoting structured academic research in performing arts and cultural studies. Kala Kalp also announced its ISO Certification, recognising its commitment towards quality education and professional standards in the performing arts sector.

The programme commenced with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony in the presence of Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Arvind Mahajan, Dr. K.G. Suresh, Dr. Tapan Kumar Nayak, Dr. Ramesh Chandra Gaur, Ustad Kamal Sabri and Shri P.V. Lovelin.

The event concluded with classical dance presentations by Deepshikha and Ayushi, featuring Odissi and Kathak performances that received an enthusiastic response from the audience.

The conclave reinforced the growing need to integrate culture, education, research, and innovation to strengthen India’s artistic heritage and inspire future generations.
