On behalf of Asavari, Guru Shovana Narayan and Dr Jyostna Suri presents the 24th edition of Lalit Arpan Festival – “Antah Shakti” of courage and hope is dedicated to cancer survivors who despite of the adversity, have emerged victorious and healthy. The two days festival will be held on 8th and 9th October at the Stein Auditorium of India Habitat Centre in New Delhi.

Founder Director of Asavari – Padmashri Shovana Narayan says “We have dedicated the 24th edition of Lalit Arpan Festival to cancer survivors for the simple reason that to survive and fight back against this dreaded disease is not easy, you need to be to be having the zest for life and the desire to live healthy and happy for which you have to be mentally prepared to look at life with an optimistic perspective. It is said that your mind can become your friend or your enemy, all depends on your mental conditioning. If you have the courage and the determination to emerge forward against all types of problems, you will definitely proceed further and emerge victorious”.
The two days festival commences with “Agni Pankh” presented by Shovana Narayan and Shruti Gupta that portrays three different personalities, who are working in the hospitality industry, the autistic person, the transgender and the acid attacked victim, their life perspectives and to how they have emerged out of these problems. The first day festival also features the Kathak performance of Alaknanda, who has survived through the first stage of cancer.
The second day festival features the dynamic Kathak dancer from Mumbai, Akshobhya Bhardwaj, who has survived through the third stage of cancer through sheer will power and determination. Akshobhya proudly and confidently states that the two important aspects of life are “Prarthana”(Prayer) and “Prayaas”(Attempt, hardwork) with a optimistic perspective of Life. He will present “Parkaya”.
The festival concludes with the Asavari presentation portraying the life of Karna, who was abandoned by birth, raised by a charioteer but ultimately emerged as a powerful and victorious warrior. The dancers featured in this presentation are Komal Biswal, Pallavi Lohani, Suparna Singh, Mahima Satsangi, Ruchi Arya, Anil Kumar, Pravin Parihar, Ashish Kathak, Vishal Chauhan and Mayank Gangani. The compere for the festival is Prerana Kumar, Lights by Nitin Jain, Music by Jwala Prasad, Madho Prasad and Rashi Rohtak Khan.
